As the world’s only 501(c)(3) non-profit genre film archive and distributor, the AGFA team continues to face challenges in the face of COVID-19. Theater closures over the past six months have wiped out two-thirds of the revenue that we rely on to sustain ourselves and fulfill our mission.
But we’re staying strong.
As bookings trickle in, we’re focused on one of the most exciting parts of our mission: preserving, restoring, and releasing genre films on home video that are overlooked by other archives and labels.
Whether it’s Ivan preserving the 35mm prints in our archive, Sebastian saving endangered films at the scanner, Alicia leading AGFA’s business affairs, Bret getting our catalog into theaters, or myself handling the creative needs, we’re all running at full steam. But even as theaters slowly reopen, the return to financial capacity won’t happen overnight. Can you help us keep our mission alive during this time?
To help us do that, please consider donating to AGFA.
Whether it’s $1 or $10,000, every bit helps. It will all go directly into keeping our team in action as we continue to navigate this challenging time.
After you donate, remember to keep staying safe and helping others in need. And don’t forget to treat yourself and watch lots and lots of genre films.
Speaking of watching movies, we put together a new video piece that contains a few surprises about our upcoming releases. Watch it here. And don’t forget to follow us on Instagram for daily transmissions from the archive.
Much love and appreciation,
Joe Ziemba
Director of AGFA
