In this half-doc/half-biopic, an actor (Nicola Nocella) agrees to portray the infamous director only after he researches the triumphs, tragedies, and truths behind Fulci’s legacy. Through never-before-seen home movies, audio confessions from Fulci himself and revealing interviews (including composer Fabio Frizzi, cinematographer Sergio Salvati, former assistant Michele Soavi and the participation of daughters Antonella and Camilla Fulci), FULCI FOR FAKE creates an unflinching portrait of a most visceral, controversial and immortal horror filmmaker.
