Inspired by the murders of three civil rights activists and filmed shortly thereafter, GIRL ON A CHAIN GANG is true exploitation cinema at its thorniest and finest. A trio of interracial travelers end up in the wrong small town and are quickly jailed by the authoritarian police force. Betrayed by the locals and wrongfully imprisoned, the three are forced to endure escalating injustices as they struggle to free themselves from a system designed to keep them inside for good.
