A lot of slashers were released in the early 1980s. However, only one of them can boast a scene in which a young Bill Paxton (ALIENS) attempts to get a date by bragging about his Mozart collection. And this is it! MORTUARY follows two teens with a van who inexplicably stumble upon a witch cult led by the local undertaker (Christopher George, PIECES). From there, we get dreamlike visions, people pouring popcorn on each other, and a killer who wears KISS make-up. In other words, this is a fun, gothed-out slice of early 1980s vibes that will make golden age slasher fans happy.
