Stockholm, 1975. Elisabeth (Lisa Lindgren) and her two children flee from her drunken husband Rolf (Michael Nyqvist, THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO) and take shelter at the “sharehome commune” where her brother Göran lives. Their arrival unexpectedly sets off a chain of events where the commune’s residents soon find their ideals clashing with their hearts’ desires. Bolstered by a terrific ensemble cast and an authentic period soundtrack featuring ABBA and Nazareth, Lukas Moodysson’s triumphant sophomore film is a warm-headed love letter to the Sweden of his childhood.
